China set to become 4th biggest trade partner of Pakistan: MOFCOM official -
BEIJING, Feb 9 (APP): China is becoming the 4th biggest trade partner of Pakistan, said here a senior Chinese official from Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM).Addressing the Pakistan-China Trade Promotion Seminar at Pakistan Embassy, Ouyang Cheng of Department of International Trade and Economic Affairs of Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) said both sides enhanced exports after the signing of the Free Trade Agreement (FTA).


UK Border Agency accept AJK marriage certificates -
LONDON, Feb 09 (APP)- The UK Border Agency has communicated to Lord Nazir Ahmed, a member of the British Upper House, that it accepts Nikah Khawani certificates from Azad Kashmir as a proof of  valid marriage.“I am able to inform you that following legal advice, Nikah Khawani certificates from AJK are now accepted as proof of a valid marriage by our UK Visa Section which processes settlement applications from Pakistan. Nikah Khawanis from any other region of Pakistan are not accepted and a Nikah Nama is still required in such cases,”

ISLAMABAD, Feb 9 (APP): Pakistan’s Naseem Hameed became the first Pakistani women in the 26-year history of regional games when on Monday she clinched a gold medal in the 100-metre sprint in 11th South Asian Games being held in Dhaka, Bangladesh.The 22-year old athlete produced her career best feat at Bangabandhu National Stadium and led the eight runners.

Balochistan package to redress grievances:Raza Rabbani   PDF Print E-mail

KARACHI, Nov. 30 (APP)- Leader of the House in Senate, Senator Mian Raza Rabbani said that Balochistan will get Rs 120 billion as gas development surcharge in the next 12 years.He was speaking at Eid milan party hosted at Peoples Secretariat here Monday. Secretary General PPP Sindh Prof. N D Khan, Special Advisor to CM Waqar Mehdi, Najmi Alam, other leaders and party workers were also present on the occasion.He said that Balochis will also get the 20 percent shares of state-owned companies operating in Balochistan under the package which also ensures that the provinces also have ownership of their resources.

Referring to Balochistan package, he said this will usher as the beginning of remedial steps for 60 years deprivation of the rights of Balochi people.

He was of the view that non-implementation of Balochistan package may result in the weakening of federation.    Rabbani naintained that President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani have assured the implementation of Balochistan package.

He reminded that government had already set up a high level judicial commission to probe the death of Nawab Akbar Bugti and other Baloch leaders.

Responding to propaganda against the government, he said that people of Pakistan will resist any attempt to derail democracy in the country.

He congratulated the people for organising a large gathering on the foundation day in Karachi and said that was enough evidence that PPP is a political party of federal level.

Professor N D Khan, Waqar Mehdi and other leaders also spoke on the occasion and said that conspiracies were being hatched by anti-democratic forces against President Asif Ali Zardari as they were webed against Shaheed Z A Bhutto and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto.
