Balochistan package to redress grievances:Raza Rabbani |

KARACHI, Nov. 30 (APP)- Leader
of the House in Senate, Senator Mian Raza Rabbani said that Balochistan will get
Rs 120 billion as gas development surcharge in the next 12 years.He was speaking
at Eid milan party hosted at Peoples Secretariat here Monday. Secretary General
PPP Sindh Prof. N D Khan, Special Advisor to CM Waqar Mehdi, Najmi Alam, other
leaders and party workers were also present on the occasion.He said that
Balochis will also get the 20 percent shares of state-owned companies operating
in Balochistan under the package which also ensures that the provinces also have
ownership of their resources.
Referring to Balochistan
package, he said this will usher as the beginning of remedial steps for 60 years
deprivation of the rights of Balochi people.
He was of the view that
non-implementation of Balochistan package may result in the weakening of
federation. Rabbani naintained that President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime
Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani have assured the implementation of Balochistan
package.
He reminded that government had
already set up a high level judicial commission to probe the death of Nawab
Akbar Bugti and other Baloch leaders.
Responding to propaganda
against the government, he said that people of Pakistan will resist any attempt
to derail democracy in the country.
He congratulated the people for
organising a large gathering on the foundation day in Karachi and said that was
enough evidence that PPP is a political party of federal level.
Professor N D Khan, Waqar Mehdi
and other leaders also spoke on the occasion and said that conspiracies were
being hatched by anti-democratic forces against President Asif Ali Zardari as
they were webed against Shaheed Z A Bhutto and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto.
